The position of eCommerce Content Executive at Marina Bay Sands is a unique opportunity for a well-rounded web content professional. The successful candidate will hit the ground running as we embark on a major upgrade of our digital platforms, and possess the experience and ambition to help drive our website to be the envy of professionals around the world.

In this unique and challenging role, you’ll be part of the eCommerce Content team managing the Marina Bay Sands website, featuring various business units with different needs and customer journeys: Hotel, ArtScience Museum, The Shoppes retail mall with 250+ retailers, Sands SkyPark, Entertainment, F&B with 60+ restaurants & bars, and one of the largest convention centres in Asia.

Job Responsibilities

Write, edit, and build web content pages.

  • You will be responsible for collaborating with the digital team and a variety of stakeholders to develop website content. This involves writing original content, editing existing content, and building website pages in our CMS.

Management of business units.

  • eCommerce content team members are each assigned 2-3 business units, each with their own objectives and KPIs. You’ll be responsible for driving improved user engagement and business performance, e.g. hotel bookings, ticket sales, restaurant reservations, other metrics as appropriate to your business units.

Write in a flexible style to address multiple audiences while maintaining brand voice.

  • We have multiple stakeholders with different end users. You’ll need to understand each stakeholder’s objectives and use an appropriate copywriting voice for that user while maintaining a consistent Marina Bay Sands brand voice.

Manage stakeholder relationships.

  • Managing relationships with business unit stakeholders will be paramount. We function similar to an agency where we are here to guide, propose enhancements, and execute digital strategy on our stakeholders’ behalf.

Work with team members based overseas.

  • Along with our Singapore based colleagues, you’ll be working closely with our China team.

Repurpose and optimize existing content for digital channels.

  • Marina Bay Sands produces abundant content (online and offline) for a variety of purposes and you’ll be expected to proactively repurpose this content to maximise its digital impact.

Excellent time management.

  • We consistently have several large projects on at any given time so you’ll need to be able to manage your time accordingly.

Content strategy and planning.

  • Content is king and we give it the priority it deserves. We are currently reassessing our long term content strategy and will need someone to help predict future trends and outpace user expectations.
  • To add to the complexity we currently have 6 languages: English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Bahasa Indonesian. This role is specifically for English but a candidate that can read/write in a second language will be regarded highly.


Required Attributes

  • Undergraduate degree with a focus on English, Communications, Journalism, Digital Marketing or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience in online copywriting, e.g. blog posts, product descriptions.
  • Demonstrated experience in website content management and familiarity with web content management systems e.g. WordPress, Joomla, Drupal.
  • Ability to measure and analyse website marketing metrics such as pageviews, entrances, CTR and bounce rate, and drive continual KPI improvements.
  • Excellent time management and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow-up on deadlines independently.
  • Ability to suggest and drive projects independently.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience with eCommerce and UX – online store management, product/offer merchandising, designing conversion-optimised page layouts.
  • Experience in the Hotel / Online Travel industry will be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics will be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of SEO is an advantage.
  • Interest in the leisure and lifestyle industry, e.g. high-end retail, dining, entertainment.
  • Basic Photoshop/photo editing skills.
  • Knowledge of Chinese, Japanese, Korean and/or Bahasa Indonesian will be advantageous (for understanding of the different languages in the website)
